NEW LEBANON SCHOOL
Weekly Updates
¿Necesita leer nuestro boletín en español?
Hello Bobcat Families! We successfully completed our first five day week of school - it was jam packed! Learning is in full swing at New Lebanon School, and we are excited for what this year has in store for us. Please see below for some important updates!
New Lebanon School Welcomes Headstart Pre-K Class Displaced Due to Hurricaine Ida
Following Hurricane Ida, the Greenwich community came together to support families, schools, and community partners who had been severely impacted by the storm - thank you to everyone who was a part of information gathering/calls, support, donations, and more.
We quickly learned that there was a Family Centers Headstart Pre-K room who had been entirely destroyed and displaced - they no longer had a home. They needed a classroom, and luckily, our new building is able to offer that for them temporarily (likely through January). One Pre-K class of 17 students and 4-5 staff will be moving into our Science Lab as early as this upcoming Monday. We are eager to welcome them with open Bobcat arms!
Please reach out with any questions or concerns, and we thank you in advance for your support of this community partnership.
Join ClassDojo!
Have you joined your new teacher's class dojo yet? If not, please download the app and be on the lookout for information on how to join! This is the main way we communicate with families about what is happening during the school day, so you can stay connected with us! You can also use this to share any information about your child, but please remember that teachers are teaching during the day, so they will not respond to you until after school!
Reporting Absences & Changes to Dismissal Plans
If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the main office to report this absence. The main office will notify the teachers of the absence and the reason. If your child's dismissal plan changes during the day, please call the main office. The main office will notify the teachers of the dismissal change. Our teachers are teaching during the day - they are very busy!
Breakfast and Lunch - Free For All!
PLEASE NOTE FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH FORMS WENT HOME IN FRIDAY FOLDERS ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD. Please fill these out and return them to the main office. Breakfast and lunch will continue to be free for all students, but we do need these forms filled out in order to maintain this status.
Construction at The Byram Shubert Library
The library has begun construction on their curbs. This limits parking at the library, but we will still be able to use the library for exiting New Leb to the street. Thank you for being safe in the library parking lot!
Quarantine
There might be a situation where your child is asked to quarantine - please be sure to charge their iPad every night, and ask them to see their Google Classroom on their iPad, so you can start to familiarize yourself with our online teaching platform.
Together in Safety and Learning,
Mrs. Michaelson & Mrs. Eisenstein
