With the encroaching Spring we also encroach on testing season. Students in grades 3-6 are scheduled to take the Language Arts and Mathematics Smarter Balanced Assessment during the month of May. (5th graders also take a Science assessment) The testing is a statewide endeavor and provides information on whether students are at benchmark levels. If you wish to opt your student out of the testing please utilize the link below.

Masking in our building for all students (and most staff) starting on Monday March 14th will become optional inside the building. This is a district wide decision based on current COVID metrics and the accompanying change of mask requirements in public spaces at the state level. Our school does have some KN95 masks on hand for families that would like their student to wear them to finish the year. Wearing your own mask, is of course, still acceptable for those wishing to continue masking.

We encourage parents to talk to their child about their expectations for masking going forward. Teachers will not be enforcing masking after March 14th so it us up to the parent and student to be on the same page with family mask expectations. We also expect to have a "no judgement zone" when we make this shift, so we encourage parents to support this by talking with their child about respecting the personal decisions of others and the choices that others make regarding the optionality of masks.
