2nd Grade
Next week, we will learn how to solve multi-step word problems. Students will need to understand the situation and/or scenario in the word problem, and then write the equation to match it. And finally solve it.
Please remember to remove any graded work in your student's math folder. Have a great weekend.
4th Grade
We started factors and multiples this week. We will continue with factors and multiples next week. Students will have notes for this vocabulary in their math journals. Please have them study their math journal notes daily.
I have added some multiplication and division games to my eClass page under Games. Please have your student practice their basic multiplication and division facts so that they will become more fluent with them. They can use flash cards or any other games that you may have also.
5th Grade
Next week, we will compare numbers with decimals and begin adding and subtracting numbers will decimals. Please remind your student to bring home their journal each night, so that they can review the notes that we took in class. This is a great way to study and solidify the concepts that we are learning daily.
Students will have multiplication and division facts homework this weekend.
Please continue to practice their basic multiplication and division facts daily - even when it is not assigned. I have games on my eClass page. You may use flash cards or any other method that you deem necessary to help them become more successful with their basic facts. Everything that we will learn in 5th grade math leads us back to those basic multiplication and division facts. Thanks so much for your help in this area.
Remember we will have homework nightly - sometimes even on the weekend. Please check your student's agenda and check to make sure that they have completed their homework. The homework practice should not take more than 30 minutes to do.
