Nova Blanche Families and Community,
Welcome back! Thank you for such a normal, smooth start to the school year in what is such a strange setting. Nova Blanche welcomed back 762 students to start the year!!! We experienced some bumps in the road but eventually we were able to have all students and families connected and logged in. Thank you!!!
As we move beyond the first weeks of school, we are going to be getting deeper into the academic delivery that our teachers know best. Please be patient and understanding with our educators. They have never delivered their instruction in an e-Learning environment. With that said, I have never been prouder of every one of them. They have immersed themselves in learning new systems and programs. I have explored each CANVAS page and I am comfortable knowing that the rigor of each grade level curriculum is present. They are going to take this challenge and turn it into an overwhelming success.
Please be reminded that we need all Nova Blanche Forman families to complete the Back to School Forms. This is essential information that we utilize throughout the school year. Also, keep our Front Office updated with any changing contact information. We are in constant communication with our families and wouldn’t want anyone to miss anything important.
Lastly, please continue to exercise patience and understanding. Many of the tasks we do in the classroom and the office are being converted into, and then carried out, in an online format. This could cause some minor delays. Just rest assured that we are working diligently to meet every deadline, requirement, and need.
We love our Nova Blanche families and we can’t wait to be able to welcome everyone back to campus in the future. Stay connected and stay safe!
Sincerely,
Mr. Schwartz
Welcome to the virtual world of Social Emotional Learning and another great year at Nova Blanche Forman Elementary School! This year will naturally bring more challenges, trials and errors. Being patient with yourself, your child and your teacher will help with this transition. I am here to assist students with navigating through their emotions, feelings that may cause any barriers to their success.
If you would like for me to meet with your child, please use this form to refer: Parent Referral Form. I also have a form on my CANVAS page for students to fill out to request a meeting.
Last school year I started a YouTube page to be able to read to my students from a distance. Check it out: Ms. James's YouTube
We will email a virtual certificate to students for now and a TEAM TITAN Lunch bunch will be on Friday 9/25/2020 for this month's Tip Top Titans
Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15- October 15):
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated every year from September 15th through October 15th and dates back to 1968. According to HispanicHeritageMonth.org, it is a time to “recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.” We will celebrate as a school learning historic and current facts about Hispanic figures.
Choose Peace Stop Violence Week (September 21- 25, 2020): The mission is to educate, engage, inspire and empower youth to take action and bring about positive change for the purpose of preventing bullying, youth crime and violence. 9/21/20 is International Day of Peace- WEAR GREEN to support the international movement committing to peace above all differences.
Start With Hello Week: During the week of September 23–27th, 2020, thousands of schools and youth organizations across the United States will participate in Start With Hello Week and teach students, grades K–12, the skills they need to create a culture of inclusion and connections, and encourage them to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with chronic social isolation. Start With Hello Week raises awareness about social isolation and educates students and the community on how to prevent it!
