KNHS LMC October Observations
The air is cool and crisp, and this is a great time to find a good book, a cuddly blanket, and a comfortable couch to enjoy a good read. This year's Gateway books are a great way to get started on some fantastic reading that ranges from epic adventures to zombies. Check out Ms. Ball's favorite picks below and see if you can find one that you might like from the 15 Gateway choices for 2012-13.
A Dog's Purpose
If you love dogs, you will love this book. You will laugh and cry and come to a new understanding of the lives of the dogs who love us even more than we love them.
Rot & Ruin
I have never been much of a fan of anything about zombies, but this book delves into much more than the battle to defeat zombies. It's all about family and how we treat those who are a little different from us.
Blank Confession
Shayne Blank is a walking enigma. When he walks into a police station and confesses to a murder, Shayne's real story may soon unravel, one little thread at a time.
New Books
New Books Have Arrived!!
Check out (literally) some of the 94 new titles on the new arrivals cart next to the Destiny Desk. Some of the new titles include many of the titles in the Pretty Little Liars series, more of the Dark Divine series, more of Tamora Pierce's novels, Ellen Hopkins' novels Tilt and Perfect, and more books by some of your favorite authors like Kristen Cashore, Kazu Kibuishi, Cassandra Clare, Allyson Condie, Laini Taylor, Lauren Oliver, Jonathan Maberry, James Patterson, Carol Lynch Williams, Alexandra Adornetto, M.E. Kerr, and many more. Maybe it's time to check out some old favorites to get you into the mood for Halloween like Stephen King, R.L. Stine, Edgar Alan Poe, or Christopher Pike. With the final movie of the Twilight series due out in November, maybe it's time to reread the trilogy. The second version of The Hunger Games is in progress, so be watching for that movie to be released as either Catching Fire or The Hunger Games 2 in 2013. Be watching and be ready to reread that series in order to keep up with the movies. Enjoy this beautiful autumn weather!
