Celebrating Our 5th Graders
Six years! Many of our 5th graders have been with us for six entire years, which is a long time. We would like to celebrate our 5th graders through a virtual recognition ceremony for them in early June. There will be more information to come on this, but it will be able to include students, parents, and staff!
New Families Enroll Now!
Even though we are currently experiencing a school closure, we are still accepting new enrollments for next year at all grade levels 4K, 5K and up through 12th Grade. If you are aware of any families that are new to the area or moving to Franklin, please help us to pass the word along that all registrations can be completed online at our Enroll Page here. Enrolling now puts you in our system and once the school closures are lifted, we can accept any required documentation for registration (proof of residency, birth certificate, etc) at the main desk of any of our school buildings.
4K or 5K Students? Know of any children that would be entering 4K or 5K next year? Please help us by passing along this information to friends, family or those new to the Franklin area!
Our 4-Year-Old Kindergarten information page is here.
Our 5-Year-Old Kindergarten information page is here.
All enrollments occur on this page here.
Register now to secure your spot for the 20-21 school year!

The Happy Home
The ES3 team would like to share a new feature with you called Happy Home. Each week we will pass along some tips to help keep your home as happy and healthy as possible during Safer at Home. ES3 is a three-year state-funded grant program with the mission of improving outcomes for students who require social and emotional support. We can ALL use social and emotional supports, especially now, so we hope you enjoy!
Our tips for this week can be used prior to starting learning, or anytime your child needs a break to be ready to learn. The first set of activities are for breathing and self-regulation and the second set of activities are additional movement tips.
Exercises for Breathing and Self-Regulation
(When feeling overwhelmed or “off task”)
Activity One
-Square breathing: Make a square shape with your hands while breathing.
1)Put your hands out like you are about to clap.
2) Breathe in for 3 seconds (while moving each hand outward)
3) Hold for 3 seconds (move hands down)
4) Breathe out for 3 seconds (move hands towards each other)
5) Hold for 3 seconds (move hands back up to complete the square)
6) Do this for 5 repetitions for a one minute activity.
Activity Two
-Mindfulness 5-4-3-2-1
Sit comfortably in a chair and focus on the world around you.
Name five things you can see
Name four things you can hear
Name three things that you feel
Name two things that you can smell
Name one thing you can taste
Activities for When your Body Needs Movement
Activity One
-Heart Beat Exercise
Complete a heavy exercise for one minute. (Example, 3 round trip obstacle courses, 60 jumping Jacks, 20 sit down-legs out and back, stand up cycles, 20 burpees).
Feel your heartbeat and breath rate.
Take a short walk to slow down.
Feel your heartbeat and breathing. Notice how you can help your body slow down.
Activity Two
-Go to https://www.gonoodle.com/ for exercises and brain breaks.
Or, see how many repetitions of the following activities you can do in a minute or until a sand timer runs out.
-situps, burpees, squats, walking lunges, stomps, use your imagination!
