Gratitude and Celebration!

Welcome to our new Clark family member/ Assistant Principal, Mrs. Michelle Villwock! We are excited to show her why Clark really is the best place to be! When you see her, introduce yourself and tell her why you love Clark! She truly bring a wealth of experience with adolescents to us and we are beyond grateful she is here!

Thanks to all of the donors for food for the Kids Cancer Foundation Harvest food drive and thanks to the Elg family for delivering. We are still accepting donations for the Elev8hope food drive through next Wednesday. Let's help more families this season!
Announcements and Updates
Attention all students in a Clark club, save next Tuesday afternoon open to be on campus for club photo day. Your sponsor will let you know what time to be in the knowledge room.
Interested in a career in law? Want to see what Judges do in court? Dr. Bonds is taking a group of students to visit the Courthouse in downtown Stuart to meet with a Judge and to observe court on the morning of November 16th. If you are interested in going, let her know immediately. Transportation will be provided from Clark.
Military Fair will be held on Nov. 17 at Clark. Stay tuned for more details.
Attention all juniors!!! Save Dec. 16 in the morning open for mandated CPR training. Mrs. Villwock will be sending an email with more details.
Don't forget to order your yearbook! The yearbook price is now $70. Order yearbooks at www.jostens.com. The price goes up November 11!
Attention seniors- The IRSC scholarship application has opened and the standard application deadline is coming soon. Don’t delay! Help is available on Monday and Friday mornings at the front desk blocks 1 and 2.

The school that collects the most (MUST collect a MINIMUM of 5,000 bags) will win two recycled adirondack chairs for their school. Bring in your plastic bags to the bin near the front office. Let's try to get at least 2500 before Winter Break!
Crane Award nominations needed for November! Has a staff member done something specific to make your life at Clark better? Each month, two staff members are awarded the traveling crane based on your submissions. Email ljudd@irsc.edu someone at Clark has made a difference this year for you/ your student!
Lunch Form to order lunch - This MUST be submitted before 9 am each morning in order to have a lunch here at school. If lunch is ordered, you MUST come and pick it up. If you do not pick it up, you will be charged $5. This is a new requirement from the MCSD since our lunches have to be pre-ordered and they cannot have waste. Parents and students- DO NOT ORDER if you are not going to come pick it up!

School Sponsored Spring Break Educational Trip Opportunity
Clark students have a tremendous opportunity to visit the nation’s capital and its largest city with your classmates during Spring Break. We will start in Washington, D.C. Days 1 and 2 will be in D.C. While there we will visit the Holocaust Museum, The Smithsonian, the Supreme Court, the Capitol, and many other monuments and sites.
A private tour coach will take us to NYC for days 3-5. Wall St., the 9/11 Memorial, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, a Broadway play, and Little Italy are among the sites we will see during our walking tours.
Other details include: Chaperones are Clark teachers. The ratio will be one chaperone for every 10 students. All dinners are included. Breakfasts will usually be available from the hotels. Lunch will be at student expense. Hotels, coach tour, airfare, admission costs, and the Broadway play are included. We fly from and to Ft. Lauderdale airport.

It's time for our annual Poinsettia and Herb sale! Our poinsettias are from a grower in Boynton and are GORGEOUS every year. The herbs are also amazing. Order forms attached to this email. Orders due by Nov. 11. Pick up is the following week.
We have a couple slots that we need to fill for front desk coverage by adults. A much need time is from 10:45- 2:30 on Fridays. Please let Mrs. Decker know if you might be able to help. sdecker@irsc.edu
The next PASS meeting for parents/ guardians is November 16. We will be sharing about our re-affirmation process and school goals, upcoming events and opportunities, as well as learning more about SAT and college planning resources from Class101. Mimi and Mike O'Leary, owners of Class 101 of the Treasure Coast, will share recommendations to make college more affordable at the November PASS meeting.
Mimi and Mike O’Leary work with students to achieve their collegiate goals. Services include college planning, developing the college list, preparing essays and applications, and assisting with scholarship applications. Class 101 also assists students with SAT/ACT test preparation. Class 101 of the Treasure Coast has office locations in Stuart and Port St. Lucie.

Volunteer Opportunities
- We are also filling 20+ baskets for Elev8hope. This initiative is being led by Clark senior, Angelo Paredes. A flyer is attached for what needs to go into the basket. We have the baskets here and if you return one with all 10 items, you will earn 2 service hours.
- Air Show volunteers needed for the gates on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. Please email Dr. Judd if you are interested. Adults and student help needed!

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, book club has selected Firekeepers Daughter by Angeline Boulley. Meet in Ms. H's room 129 on Dec. 1 during lunch to discuss. If you have trouble accessing the book, please let her know so we can help find you a copy.

Make a Difference Mondays! Today we are focused on making a difference in our environment. Take Care Tuesdays! An important way to take care of yourself is to get some sleep. Easier said than done, but sleep deprivation is detrimental to a person’s thinking, and their physical and emotional state. Most young people need eight to nine hours of restful sleep to function at their best. It’s not easy fitting this into a schedule filled with academic, social and recreational activities, but it sure has a big payoff. Try to have as regular a sleep schedule as possible

Virtual Tutoring
In addition to in-person tutoring, the ASC’s virtual tutoring schedule for the semester is now available. Students can receive virtual help in many disciplines, including math, science, English, and economics, among others.

Unauthorized Apps
Students who have downloaded unauthorized apps will be receiving an email next week. If this is your second warning, there will be disciplinary steps taken. Students are NEVER to install ANY applications to their school computer without administrator approval.
