A Message from the Leadership Team

Community Education is expanding it's offerings this spring with the addition of courses offered at LWTC. Now courses such as Welding, Basic Life Support, and Electronics/Aviation 101-102. We look forward to future offerings to ensure community members are able to receive the courses they need whether for career or life learning.

Adult Education is officially in full swing with many classes at or near capacity. As we continue this semester you should hear more conversation in regards to the WIOA legislation. The great part of WIOA is that it is focused on integrating education and training to improve the employability of the state’s workforce through language acquisition, cultural awareness, academic skills and College and Career Readiness. Please reach out to Scott Schnappauf to learn more about WIOA and make sure to continue to share with your students the Tuesday Did You Know as those are key elements of the WIOA legislation.

Best Practices

  1. Make the learning relevant to what students will be doing when they leave your classroom.
  2. Spend less time lecturing and allow students time for dialog and practice.
  3. Provide opportunities for students to ask questions and correct mistakes.
