A Prayer for Kindness
"Lord, even when the world around us is swirling and broken, thank you for being true, kind, and a
foundation to lean on. Today, we boldly and humbly approach you asking for your kindness
to meet us"
Message form the Principal
Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, our students have still had a very busy term. Staff have been working to make up for lost teaching time and in my discussions with them they have been very pleased with the amount of work that they have been able to catch up. I cannot thank the staff enough for this. We are hoping that everything will be back to normal from the start of next term.
There will be optional parent/teacher interviews in Week 5 and 6 of next term if families wish to meet with teachers and discuss the progress of their child/ren so far this year.
Reports will be available from next Wednesday and, as mentioned in a previous newsletter, the school will be using the Report Template formulated by CEWA. It is a shortened version of our usual report. The Term 4 Report will be the usual full report that families receive each semester.
Please note that Monday July 20 is a pupil free day and that students will start back at school on Tuesday July 21.
God Bless and keep safe.

Artist of the week
The Artist of the Week is Caleb from Year One for his drawing of Daddy Bear from the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears. He chose to draw Daddy Bear because he wants to be a dad with three kids when he grows up. Caleb's favourite thing about his artwork is the fur. He likes to draw with textas at home and his favourite colour is blue.

Hilary Campos - School Social Worker
My name is Hilary Campos. I work at St. Columba's each Monday term time and I have been here for 15 years. I graduated and qualified from Plymouth University, England 35 years ago. As School Social Worker the well being and best interests of every student is paramount.
Parents/Carers are welcome to contact me via e mail hilary.campos@cewa.edu.au , in person or at the Office, to organise a time to meet or talk by telephone, in confidence. Together, we can discuss and agree how I may be of help e.g. as a listening ear, offering advice and support, sharing resources and help in accessing external services. I can meet with your child as a safe, network person at school with your permission. You may prefer my role to be as a consultant to you as a parent/carer and we can work together with teachers/staff if and as appropriate.
Students at St. Columba's will see me from time to time in the classroom, facilitating sessions and supporting teachers in the delivery of our Keeping Safe Curriculum and Well Being Policy. I am also looking forward to once again providing the Circle of Security Parenting workshops and morning teas with advice and information-sharing on topics of interest and requested by parents/carers.
I welcome the opportunity to continue working with St. Columba's School Community.
