Grade 4 and 5 Student Council Elections
Students in grade 4 and 5 learned about the election process during the recent student council elections. Students wrote a letter to announce their interest in running for student council representative. They created posters to display throughout the building. They wrote and gave campaign speeches to their classmates stating their purpose and platform. Finally all students voted in a "real life voting booth" scenario.
Congratulations to the following students!
Explorer Eichorn - Representative Chase and Alternate John
Explorer Ginsberg - Representative Zeke and Alternate Colten
Explorer Calkins - Representative Lilith and Alternate Xavier
Explorer Lapan - Representative Aaron and Alternate Kairi
Explorer Hall - Representative Brenna and Alternate Louis
Explorer Charboneau - Representative Lily and Alternate William
The newly elected representatives will attend their first meeting on Monday, October 15 to plan the upcoming school spirit week.

Fire Prevention Week
Today Captain Ellis and Firefighter Chapley, from the TF Fire Department, provided important life saving information to make sure that everyone understand how to stay safe in the case of a fire. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come teach us.
Some important reminders for families include:
- Install tamper resistant smoke alarms or test and regularly change the battery in smoke alarms where you live.
- Remain diligent and watchful when cooking. Turn pot handles inward toward the stove.
- Use electrical appliances as intended.
- Practice fire evacuation plans in your home and know the way out of where you work or hotels and restaurants you may visit.
- Reduce the risk of wildfire spreading to your home by ensuring that brush and other vegetation are cleared from around your house.
- As the temperatures get colder, remember to check chimneys and clean fireplaces to prepare them for use in winter.
