Principal's Message
We are in full swing here at CMS into our second full week of school! Staff and students are beginning to settle into a routine here for the 2019-2020 school year and we look forward to working with you and your students this school year. Below will outline our methods of communication for Crawfordsville Middle School. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
CMS Communication
CMS Spotlights
6th Grade Orientation
CMS welcomed the 6th graders on August 2nd!
CMS Staff
We have the best staff here at CMS!
Back to School Dance
CMS Back to School Dance capped off a great first full week of school!
After the Bell (After School Activity Program)
Students received sign up sheets in Advisory Monday, August 19th for After the Bell. There are many great clubs and activities to join, so please ask your student to look over this with them. Homework help is always an option and a great resource for students as well.
Student ILEARN Scores
Student ILEARN results will be sent home in the near future. Guidance on reading the reports will be included as well.
8th Grade Field Trip
The annual capstone 8th grade field trip will be on October 17th to Springfield, Illinois to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, Abraham Lincoln's home, and the Lincoln Tomb. This is an all day field trip that requires students to leave early in the morning and get home later in the evening. We charter buses, so there is an added student cost. We will be communicating details of the trip and cost to students in the near future, but wanted you to have the date for your calendars as early as possible.
Athenian Athletics
Parents and Athenian fans welcome back to school. As the new Athletic Director I want to take a moment to introduce myself. I have coached various sports and been an Athenian fan my whole life. I am passionate about seeing students succeed in all aspects of their schooling and I believe athletics can help students learn life long skills. I bleed blue and gold! Our Athletic Department theme for this year is "Who Can Stop Us? NO ONE!" You will also see the #rockthegoldandblue posted everywhere as we continue to prove that CMS has the best school spirit around! Athenian athletics are in full force with Boys Tennis, Football, Cross Country, Soccer, and Volleyball. You can find updates on practices and events on our school's Facebook page and website.
Athletes and Focus
This year our athletes will be focusing on the core values of kindness, respect, responsibility, and safety on and off the field. Guest speakers and other positive initiatives are being instituted to help our Athenians to be standouts in the areas of character and athletic excellence!
Student Spirit Shirts
We want to remind parents that our spirit shirts are for sale in the front office for students for $25. These shirts are for students only and serve as an athletic pass for ALL home athletic events.
Athletic Passes
Parents and family members can purchase single or family passes for the games at the front office as well. These passes will get you into all regular season home events.
