CONTENTMENT
I know none of you have contentment problems but I sure do. Lately I have found myself, just not content. Discontentment can reveal itself in how we act, what we say and what we do not say. Let me introduce you to Not Me. Not Me lives everywhere. I do not know exactly where Not Me originated but I do know, Not Me lives in every home in America. Not Me did not want what was offered at dinner. Not Me complained and whined. Not Me was NOT content with what had been provided. Paul, when he was in prison in Rome, wrote to the Philippians. He encouraged them to continue to live their lives for Christ and not to get caught up in listening to crazy talk from other people about Christ. Paul was also glad the Philippians were not only thinking of him but caring for him. In Philippians 4: 10-11, Paul stated, 'I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances'. Okay, we are not in prison; if Paul can be content in whatever circumstance he finds himself, I believe without a doubt we can too. This is what I do to keep discontentment from taking a serious root, I am THANKFUL! If we are thankful, guess what? Right! We will not have time to be discontent. I challenge you to find at least three things to thank the Lord for everyday before going to bed. You will then see God's faithfulness even in the smallest of small. What am I thankful for today? I am so glad you asked. The Lord fed me today (important for a Fluffy), He kept me safe as I drove to and from Manhattan (some people are careless when they drive) and He allowed me to laugh. I enjoyed being with my family and being able to laugh with them. The "little" things.
