In order to make sure you are safe on Facebook, you have to manage your settings.
The first thing you have to do is find the Privacy Shortcut icon. After you click on it, you can see boxes saying 'Privacy Checkup', 'Who can see my stuff', 'Who can contact me' and 'How do I stop someone from bothering me'. You can explore those boxes and make sure all of your settings are turned on 'Friends' or 'Only me'. This means that only your friends will be able to view your future posts and your information can stay private. You can also report anyone who is sending you messages and are not in your contacts by simply reporting their page.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN A DIGITAL WORLD
If you receive a message from somebody who is not in your contacts, you need to immediately report and block them and never answer back.
If you are involved in a group chat and there is people you do not know make sure to have a username that doesn’t reveal neither your name or your surname. It is very important that you do not give out any information about yourself such as: your address, your school, your e-mail, phone number and even your personal interests.
Never chat with anybody you don’t know online and never agree to meet up with anyone.

Biometrics are automated methods of recognizing a person based on a physiological or behavioral characteristics.
A Biometric Scanner scans your fingerprint
When your fingerprint is registered on the scanner, the image of the patterns of your fingerprint is converted into a mathematical sequence called an algorithm.
This is secured on a database which grants authentication and access through a secured door.
Nowadays, there are fingerprint readers used to unlock mobile phones, USB pen drives and laptops as shown in the video above.
ENCRYPTION
Encryption is the conversion of electronic data, into another form called ciphertext, which cannot be easily understood by anyone except authorized parties.
The purpose of Encryption is to protect digital data either stored in a computer or submitted via the Internet or any sorts of networks.
Encryption was only used by armies and the government until the arrival of the Diffie-Hellman key exchange and the RSA algorithms.
It is used to protect all data that in transit sent from all sorts of devices across all networks.
- When someone uses an ATM, buys something online, makes a phone call or presses a key fob to unlock a car, encryption is used to protect the information being relayed.
