Bunnies and Eggs
This week the kids have been having fun counting colorful eggs, going on egg hunts and creating bunny and egg arts and crafts. We had a special invite from Plymouth Family Network to join them for a show with Elijah T. Grasshopper and Friends. There were sing alongs and dancing. The students loved being able to get up and join them in dancing up front in the little theater. It was a great time for all who attended!

Veterinarian Visit
Veterinarian and FFES parent, Dr. Kristen Dennis, visited Mrs. Burke’s kindergarten class. She talked about the animals she treats at the hospital where she works and even brought some of the tools she uses to show the students how to use them. They learned that the hardest part about treating animals is that they can’t tell you what’s wrong or how they are feeling like people can.
March Madness
Ms. Naclario’s 4th grade class celebrated their love of sports and March Madness fever while working on their math skills. They visited the gym where they shot baskets and then recorded fractions that matched their shooting percentages. They also completed long division equations for extra points. Here are their March Madness bracket winners!
Indian Brook Elementary School
One Book One School
Indian Brook staff surprised the students with scenes from Charlotte’s Web as a culmination of One School, One Book. As students arrived they were greeted by live animals such as goats, a duck, bunnies, chickens, ponies, and a BABY PIG. There was also a tractor from The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department Farm.
Bristol Agricultural school provided activities in the gym for students to learn about farming and agriculture. A Carnival in the cafeteria entertained the students throughout the day.
At night families joined us for our annual Literacy Night.
Many thanks to the staff who worked tirelessly to pull this off as well as the many community members who volunteered their time, equipment and animals: The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, Dan Forand of Blue Gate Farm, Darlene Nickerson of Black Feather Horse Rescue, Bristol County Agricultural School, The Indian Brook PTA, Kindergarten Teacher Sue Blauss and her husband Don who provided many of our animals and Nurse Michelle and her family who also provided their furry friends and Fourth Grade Teacher Jill Duggan who organized the Carnival. Special thanks to our fabulous Art Teacher Kathy White whose creative vision and talents made Charlotte's Web come to life!
Manomet Elementary School
Animal Habitat Projects on Display
As part of one of their Project-Based Learning Experiences, Grade 2 students took some time this week to show off work associated with their Animal Habitat projects. We are so grateful to not only the Grade 2 Team for all of their hard work in teaching these students about different types of animal habitats, but also to the many, many family members who came out to show their support in celebrating this work!
Nathaniel Morton Elementary School
Enrichment Day at NMES
About 200 students at Nathaniel Morton participated in our Annual Enrichment Day this past Saturday, April 6th. Many thanks to Mrs. Spinale and the NMES PTA for organizing this event for our students! Students chose from 18 different activities ranging from karate and floor hockey to slime making and coding/engineering. It was a morning filled with fun, excitement, and learning. This is a fantastic tradition at NMES and one we couldn't continue without the support of our PTA and the many parent volunteers who run the engaging activities. Thanks to all who made this event possible!
Collaborative Hands On Learning in Grade 5
Students in grade 5 participate in regular hands on learning opportunities and enjoy opening letters on Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.
SES as an Inclusive Community to ALL!
During their library special students at SES have been learning about autism and promoting not only awareness, but acceptance. Mrs. Godfrey has been having open conversations and using relatable books and videos to help students understand how autism may affect their peers. The SES community has become that much closer by learning how to be inclusive to ALL students.

Cradles to Crayons Collection
Great job Emma Bent on a successful Cradles to Crayons collection! Emma was part of a group of student that initiated this clothing drive as part of the Project 351 Ambassadors program. Thank you to everyone who donated items.
A Frightening Society
Dystopian fiction. In simplest terms, they are stories set in a bad future or an imagined world in which people lead a dreadful, fearful existence. 7th-grade ELA students read dystopian novels such as The Giver, The Hunger Games, or The Maze Runner and then completed a slide show about their books. They had to describe the society, show who had power and note the rules and customs of the world; all of this was backed up with quotations from the books. Rules can be terrifying; they range from the Population Police and the Reaping to being Released. Dystopias are not a pleasant place to live.
Creative Hands
Students don't often get to do hands-on creative activities. Recently, several groups were able to experience the joy that comes from shaping, blending, folding, molding, and painting. 6th-graders have just started their China projects and were working on their 3-D models. One student was carving wood blocks while others were creating wagons, lanterns, and reproduction Ming vases. 7th-graders recently painted still lifes using fruit, teapots, and vases as models. With a few simple folds, 8th-graders transformed a flat piece of paper into a three dimensional swan.
Plymouth North High School
