The VoiCE
February 2017
February is a month of enrichment activities in our school. On Feb. 14th, we will kick-off our community read-a-thon in support of the Ronald McDonald House. Reading daily can expand your vocabulary, your world and your perspectives about things. So, be on the look-out for reading logs and how you can donate. A few days later (Feb. 17th), our 1st Graders will present Barnyard Hullabaloo. Participation in a play allows our students to perform in front of an audience, build self-confidence and strengthen public speaking skills. As a audience we are enriched through the message of the story, the music, movements and props. As they say in show biz, “Break A Leg” First Graders. At the end of the month, the A.C.E. (After Class Enrichment) Program is back. Programs like Karate, Fun with Electricity, No Cook Baking, and Crocheting are being offered. I have even volunteered to teach an iMovie class. Please consider volunteering to enrich the lives of our students. The A.C.E. Program will run on the following Tuesdays: Feb. 28th, Mar 7th, Mar. 21st and 28th. More information about the A.C.E. Program can be found in this publication or on the website. Finally, enrichment comes in many forms. Think about the ways you can enrich your child this month.

Student Drop Off & Parking Lot Reminders
Please be advised that the walker door does not open until 8:55 am. We ask that you do not drop your children off before this time, as there is no supervision available. Only students receiving breakfast can be dropped off at 8:35 am. Those students will be brought immediately to the cafeteria to eat.
It is unsafe to have children crossing the parking lot alone. The parking lot is extremely busy during drop off and pick up times, making it dangerous for students to be crossing by themselves. If you park in a parking spot, please take a moment to cross your children onto the sidewalk. Otherwise, please stay in the drop off line and release your children at the curb.
The safety of our students is our number one priority and we thank you for your cooperation.
