A Message From Our Principal

Dear HFCS Community,

Happy Advent! Advent is the season of hopeful and patient waiting for the birth of the Christ Child. In the midst of all the hectic pressure of Christmas preparations that surround us, let us remember to take a few minutes each day to gather for a peaceful family Advent prayer.

Advent Prayer for Families

Heavenly Father, your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us, a sign of your love.

Guide us as we strive to walk in that love together as a family this Advent.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas,

bring us closer to each other and to your son.

Give us the grace and strength we need every day.

Help us to trust in you.

Come, Lord Jesus, lead all people closer to you.

Come and dispel the darkness of our world

with the light of your love.

The Dynamic Catholic Institute

Sister Teresa has an exciting idea for the 5th grade Pot O’ Gold class project and she needs your help to make it work! Please start saving all of your plastic bottle caps (milk, soda, yogurt, juice, etc) and turn them in to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than January 15. Your bottle caps will be upcycled into something beautiful - thank you!

Holy Family, Pray for us!

Spelling Bee Advances

Did you know that each year, 11 million students compete in spelling bee at the school level. The purpose of the bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.

The following students from the classroom level have advanced to the school level, which will be held on Monday, December 9, after morning prayer.

4 - Annica Moreno and Evan Olmos

5 - Kaitlyn Szostek and Samantha Lopez

6 - Jackson Schuster, and Cooper Orand

7 - Lucas Asprilla and Brent Neill

8 - Olivia Vasquez and Christian Paddack

Please join us in congratulating these students!

Annual 8th Grade Thanksgiving Feast

A long-standing tradition, started by Ms. Jan Barker, is the Annual 8th Grade Thanksgiving Feast. From making pie crusts from scratch to the green bean casserole, the students prepare this feast for their parents, grandparents, school and parish faculty and staff, and other friends of the school.

Thank you, ms. Barker, for stating such a lovely tradition, and your commitment to making the feast happen year after year!!

Please join us for our annual Christmas Concert featuring the HFCS Choir and Band.

Mrs. Conway's 4th Grade Class recently visited Log Cabin Village. Log Cabin Village is a living history museum about Texas' pioneer era which was from 1840 to 1890.
