We Appreciate Your Feedback! Returning to In-Person Family Faith Learning
One question that displayed mix results was this survey question:
Would you prefer to begin gathering for Faith Formation classes in person, and not continue with the virtual model?
Below is a chart of family responses. It appears that about 50% of families would like to return to in person Family Faith classes as soon as possible, as the remaining 50% prefer to wait to return in person or continue this program virtually.
Our program is designed to be a social based, family learning environment. As with all aspects affected from this pandemic, we are excited to return to normal sessions in person! And with your feedback, we can see that over 80% of our families agree to return to in person classes either immediately or in the near future.
Please know we are exploring ways to plan a safe return. Since each of the 4 classes in our program has about 75+ parents and children, that would gather in an indoor space, we must consider and ensure the safety of our families. We are closely monitoring the number of COVID cases and vaccination rate in New Brunswick. Thankfully, COVID numbers are low, however, the number of people vaccinated in the city is below 50%. So, at this point, we will not return in person until the rate of vaccination is higher. There has been tremendous efforts throughout the city to assist residence in getting vaccinated. We will closely monitor that rate and hope to return in person soon, possibly by the Fall time.
Mass Readings for Sunday, June 6: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
This weekend, we celebrate The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (also called "Corpus Christi Sunday"). This Feast commemorates the immense gift of the Eucharist in our lives and in the Church.
On Holy Thursday, we remember Jesus presenting the Eucharist, the Last Supper, the Agony in the Garden, the betrayal of Judas and the beginning of the Passion of Christ. It is easy to become lost in so many beautiful things to remember. However, this Corpus Christi Sunday allows us to focus solely on celebrating the real presence of Christ – Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity – in the bread and wine.
The Eucharist is a most fundamental aspect of our faith. When we receive Communion, Christ is closer to us than ever! We should never take this precious gift for granted.

A Monstrance Craft
As Catholics, we believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist or communion. A Monstrance is an ornate golden vessel that displays the consecrated host for adoration. The picture at the right side shows a picture of a Monstrance. They are generally beautiful and decorative, lending themselves to all kinds of beautiful crafts for children.
Have your child create a Monstrance at home! Use any decorative materials found around your home, and lots of creativity, to create a decorative Monstrance craft. Below are pictures of different examples to help your child get started.
