STAR Testing This Week
Starting Monday, March 4th, the testing window for STAR progress monitoring will be open this week. This period of testing is used in consideration for placement for next year. Please remind your child to try his/her hardest and use all of the strategies he/she has been taught throughout the year. For 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students, it also provides teachers with some valuable data to help them make decisions on what still needs to be mastered between now and the FSA.

Children's author Keith Lawrence Roman will be presenting to the students of Oasis during Specials on Friday, March 8th, in the airnasium. You are invited to attend this educational interactive storytelling experience.
Your child will be bring home a catalog of Roman's books available for purchase. He accepts checks and credit cards. All books will be personally autographed. .
Wednesday your child will be photographed for the Spring Individual Picture. School uniform is not required and students are encouraged to DRESS THEIR BEST!
According to Leonard's, pictures can be ordered online prior to Picture Day at www.leonards.com/order or wait until the proof sheet arrives in 3 weeks or so and order then.
I see the excitement and enthusiasm the Read-A-Thon has stirred among our readers. As we approach our last week of the Read-A-Thon, please make sure you and your child set up their online account (they will receive a dress out of uniform pass just for setting up their account). The directions on setting up the account is located on the color flyer that was sent home last week.
Use this account to record minutes your child spent reading, as they will earn prizes as their minutes build. Of course, we hope you will also make and seek pledges from families and friends. The funds the library earns from this program will buy books for our library collection and provide rewards for our readers to include: Rainbow Reading Bingo, AR Fun Day, SSYRA Jr. and SSYRA Election Party, and our Book Battles.
Note - The Treasure Chest noted on the flyer will be time in the Money Machine.
If you need to have a reprint of your online account pass-code, please email and I will handle.
