Mid-Way Through March in PACE
What's Happening in PACE?
Parent Resources
Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT)
TAGT strives to provide parents with tools and resources that will assist them in understanding and meeting the unique needs of their gifted and talented children through awareness, advocacy and action.
Kindergarten
Kinder is working hard on all of their science experiments! Each time the start a new experiment, they work through the scientific method. This ties in perfectly with their "Think About It" curriculum.
Fizz Inflator
Walking Water
First Grade
First grade has finished up all of their SCAMPER lessons, and will be working to put everything together in their SCAMPER Super Hero Book!
Up next, Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter!
E - eliminate and R - rearrange
Second Grade
Second grade is a group full of future coders! They are making progress through all of the code lessons in Course C. They've even used their SEL (Social and Emotional) skills to tackle each new lesson with Grit! We're working through repeats and loops, and moving forward into the Big Event lesson, where kiddos will tackle the new challenge of having an event happen while they code.
Coding, Coding, and More Coding!
Third Grade
Our Thinking Third Graders are working hard on their Genius Hour projects. They're working to finish all of their research in the next weeks so that they can move into the presentation design phase of the project. We'll look to TED Talks for inspiration on how to present their projects!
We may even have some future TED Talk speakers in the making!

Fourth Grade
Our Lego Mindstorm robots are built and are undergoing multiple training exercises. Fourth graders are learning the importance of flowcharts and commands as they discover and work as a team to solve various problems.
Fifth Grade
We were lucky enough to have a stock market financial planner come in to teach us all about economic trends.
Fifth graders were able to get many of their questions answered about different investment options and the work of a stock broker. We are all beginning to understand that successful investors rely on research, diversification, and trends.
Through March, we will work on an InvestWrite writing competition produced by the Stock Market Game program. This will add a critical thinking component and help reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom.
