Entering The Fall Semester With The Right Tools
As we enter our second semester with COVID-19, I want give you some pointers and tools for success this semester.
- The fall semester begins on Tuesday, September 8. If you have a Monday night class it will begin on Monday, September 9 but please make sure you access your Canvas course on September 8 to see if there are any instruction's from your instructor.
- The drop and add period ends on Tuesday, September 15.
- Mid-term Exams Begin on Tuesday, October 19.
- The last day to withdraw From FA-19 Courses is Monday, November 9.
- Thanksgiving break begins after the last class on Monday, December 14.
- Fall Final Exams Begin: December 15
- Last Day of FA-19 Term: December 21
Lastly, I know some of you have been deeply affected by COVID-19 and the events that have followed our first exposure to it. At the end of this newsletter is a little inspiration for the future. I want you to know that we are here for you.

Education Majors: Have You Submitted Your Required Paperwork!
Remember all education majors are required to have current copies of the following in their file:
- Child Abuse Clearance
- Criminal Check Clearance
- FBI Clearance
- NSOR (National Sex Registry)
- Negative TB Test Results
If you are unsure about whether or not you have submitted the required paperwork, please contact Dr. Cherie Crosby, who is the Program Director for all three programs.
Student Portal: Check Your Student Portal and Review Your Degree Audit
Please use this link to access your Student Portal. If you do not remember your login information for the Student Portal you can simply contact the Manor College HelpDesk for a password reset. Please note: Passwords are only reset between 9-5 pm, Monday through Friday.

- Check All Communications Daily: Course Announcements, Manor College Global Canvas Announcements, Manor email, and Canvas Inbox emails.
- Using A Planner and Time Management Tool
- Ask Questions and Work Ahead
- ASI Resources: Academic Support, Tutoring and Disability Services
- Tap into Student Life Services
- Meet and Stay In Contact with Your Advisor
- Make Time for Self-Care

#2: Planning is Not Optional
Also, make sure you use all that our Library Services have to offer, too! Using the resources they provide is an integral component of your success as well.

#6: Meet with and Stay in Contact with your Advisor
I highly recommend you do not wait to connect with your advisor until spring advising.
