Rattler News
October 26, 2022
From the Desk of Principal Roberts
Here we are during my favorite time of the year. I am energized by the buzz in the air. We have many fun things planned and I can't wait to embrace it all. Here is a preview with some important details!
- Monday, October 31st - Students can dress up in costumes! I just ask that they refrain from anything scary, gory or that includes weapons. Let's have fun with this!
- Monday, November 7th - Friday, November 11th - Book Fair Week
- Monday, November 7th: STEM NIGHT - Come join us for a night with fun stem activities and math games with an opportunity to shop at the book fair too( 5:30 - 7:00).
- Wednesday, November 9th - THANKSGIVING PICNIC - We will have our Thanksgiving Lunch picnic style! Only students and staff will be served Thanksgiving Lunch on this day. You can meet your student outside during their regular lunch times (see times below). Bring a blanket or chairs, find a spot out on the grassy field in front of the school and enjoy!
- Friday, November 11th - Annual Veteran's Day Assembly; Please invite anyone from your family or neighbors to come to our Veteran's Day Assembly so that we can honor our Veterans in a very special way. See the invitation below.
Let's embrace this fall and soak up every second!
With Joy,
Shelley Roberts

A message from Coach Guthrie
Dear Parents & Students,
The PE Department has a new pilot program called Students Teach Students. Sometimes kids learn better from other kids. Once a month we will hold a free clinic for any 2nd - 5th grade student that would like extra help on a skill we have recently gone over in PE. This month we will be working on Tennis skills. Coach Jackson & I have selected students as coaches based on their above-average tennis skills. They will be helping 2nd - 5th grade students that want a little more personal instruction. Of course, we will be there as well. If you are interested, please help us keep track of how many students to expect by clicking on the link below and filling out the form. Unfortunately, we will have to cap the number of students to 20. Whoever signs up first will get a confirmation from me.

TEAL Pumpkin Project
The River Ridge PTA Food Allergy Awareness Committee supports the FARE Teal Pumpkin project with the goal to create a safer Halloween for all by:
- Provide non-food treats for trick-or-treaters such as glow sticks or small toys.
- Place a teal pumpkin in front of your home to indicate that you have non-food treats available
- Spread the word! Share the Teal Pumpkin Project with your friends and family
Help make Halloween safe and fun for all kids!
