SHISD Mid-Week Message

Weekly Superintendent's Message for Spring Hill ISD

Early Voting Ends TODAY March 2, 2018 for the March 6, 2018 Primary Election

Next week is Public Schools Week and includes many people showing up at our schools looking for ways to celebrate and thank teachers for their service and dedication to our students. If you ask me what you can do to help public schools, to help teachers, and to help students, the answer is simple: VOTE!

Are you tired of over testing? VOTE!

Are you tired of underfunding our schools? VOTE!

Want to do away with the A-F rating? VOTE!

Do you think retired teachers should get a cost of living raise? VOTE!

Tired of politicians attacking our schools? VOTE!

I hope each of you is registered and has a chance to vote in the primaries. In Texas, voting in the primaries is critical. Your vote = your voice!

First Tech Challenge Robotics

Spring Hill ISD added FTC to robotics last year because our students wanted something more challenging and something new. The team did well in the 2 qualifying meets they attended and were chosen as an alliance team. In the 2nd qualifying meet they were runner up to the alliance team but won the design award. They used retro parts for the 60's and NXT robots. Not only does this group represent Spring Hill in robotics competition, they are active in community service. They chose to bake cookies and sell them at the football games where they raised almost $600 to give to a family in need. They helped some local boy scouts afford to go to camp and also helped them earn their robotics belt loop. This group set up the 3D printers at the high school and some of them worked the scoreboard during football and soccer season.
