Let's Get Your Courses Ready!
Your courses are visible, so let's review best practices for setting up your courses in Schoology.
Start here:
- Go to Grade Setup and configure your gradebook settings.
- Add an image to your course profile.
- Decide whether or not you will be linking sections. This needs to be done before content is added.
- Import your content from your Resources.
There are links to directions below, just click on the image.
You’ll need to do your Grade Setup. There’s a link below to specific directions. This is important because any assignment you create in an active course needs to be attached to a Category. That Category (or those Categories) will need to be exactly the same as you would setup in IC. The Grading Periods are linked to IC, so you don’t need to create one. The Grading Scales provided are those most often used in IC, but you are still able to create one of your own.
In addition to the links here, the Resources section of this newsletter has some handy Reference Cards to download and print.

Schoology’s social media-like design is intended to be used for collaborative purposes. Groups are where you can build and share resources, ask questions, and share your successes. We have a group for you! We have created the 20Learn Educators group. This is a district-wide group where we can learn, share, and grow together.
The Access Code is: 8SW2F-NGRM9
Join us. Greet the group. We look forward to working with you!
