Canned Food Drive
We want to thank you for your contributions thus far to our Christian Care Canned Food Drive. As you may know, this annual fundraiser helps to feed families in our own community. We are grateful for the support of our Davis family as we work to provide meals for those students and families we serve.
We have many incentives in place to help motivate participation in these efforts. If Davis collects more food items than McMillan, the McMillan principal will sleep on the roof. In addition, any students or staff members who bring 20 food items between Monday, October 31, and Wednesday, November 9, will get elementary dress (staff, work out wear and hats) every day starting Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18 (the week before Thanksgiving break). We will keep track of food items donated by each student during that time, and those names will be documented on a spreadsheet to show which students have reached the goal and have earned elementary dress. Students are not required to bring all 20 food items at once, but cans considered for this qualification must be brought between the designated dates.
Thank you again for your help as we bring HOPE and HAPPINESS to our Wylie community this season. We appreciate you, Davis family!
Mentor Meeting November 15
Wylie ISD is hosting an informational MENTOR meeting on Tuesday, November 15, at the ESC. This meeting is for people interested in becoming a mentor and for parents wanting to know more about the program so they can submit their child’s name. If you have any questions, please contact Joley Martin at joley.martin@wylieisd.net.

News Regarding DNA Kit Requests
In compliance with Texas Education Code Section 33.0531, Wylie ISD offers parents and legal guardians inkless fingerprint and DNA kits for their children upon request. Per the Texas Education Code, this kit is designed to be submitted to “federal, state, tribal, or local law enforcement to help locate and return a missing or trafficked child.”
Parents and legal guardians may request these kits by contacting their campus nurse. As outlined in the kit, parents or guardians should keep the kit in their possession and only provide it to law enforcement in the event it is needed to reunite with a missing child. Please do not return this kit to the school — we cannot accept these kits. If you have questions, please contact communications@wylieisd.net.
