Economic Relations
The U.S and Canada have a high volume of bilateral trade: more than $2 billion of goods and services a day. Canada is the single largest foreign supplier of energy to the U.S. The uranium mined in Canada helps fuel nuclear power plants here in the U.S. The U.S> is Canada's largest foreign investor. Canada is the third largest foreign investor of the U.S. They work closely on many levels, from federal to local.
Social Relations
Canada and the U.S. share two borders which about 300,00 people cross every day with all types of transportation. 8,000 trucks cross the Windsor Detroit border each day. A reason why the two countries have a good relationship is because they share common interests, similar values and multi-layered economic ties. The two coultries work closely together in many different topics/issues.
Political Relations
Both countries work on environmental protection and free trade. There have been a few trade dispute issues and environmental concerns. The Canadian concern for the future is oil exports, immigration, and the threat of terrorism. The U.S.'s concerns are government, environment, and along with Canada immigration.
