April 9-13, 2018
Happening this week....
Pre-AP Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Marek
Marek: We will be starting a mini-unit on informational books and inquiry research this week.
Sanchez: We will be continuing our Force and Motion Unit called “Entertaining Innovations.” We will be learning the new concepts of pulleys, ramps, and simple machines so we can apply them to our Rube Goldberg Machines. Our test will be Friday, April 13th.
STEAM Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Hernandez
Marek: We will be continuing our unit on Force and Motion and we will have a test on Friday April 13th (Ms. Marek will also be out that day).

Accelerated Science ~ Mrs. Irons
We will be focusing on Plate Tectonics, Topographic Maps, and Human Effects on Groundwater as we continue our studies of our Dynamic Earth.

This week we will wrap up our unit over area and volume. We will review all concepts from this unit on Monday and Tuesday. The test over area and volume will be on Wednesday of this week. On Thursday, we will begin our next unit over data. Students will begin learning how to solve real-world problems by displaying, analyzing, and summarizing data.

This week we will begin our unit over Financial Literacy. Students will be learning about simple and compound interest, percent of change,
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, Mrs. Strother and Ms. Peden
Students will take their final test over the Literature Circle Novels on Monday, April 6. The World War II test will follow on Tuesday. We will then launch our study of the Cold War and Middle East as we prepare for the reading STAAR.
Global Business and Professional Communication ~ Ms. Tedford and Ms. Owen
This week students will share their final book videos about fair trade with the class. This format will also make it very clear for them to share it with you! Let us know what you learn about fair trade from reading their books. They have been working hard and we are excited to finish up this unit!

We will wrap up our Golf unit in class this week as well as start collecting some data for our annual FitnessGram assessment. Please remember to bring your uniform on a daily basis. Keep up the good work Wolverines!
