Physical Change and Chemical Change
What's the difference?
What are they, Anyways?
There are many misconceptions about what a physical or chemical change is. For starters, a Physical Change is a change in the the properties of a substance, that does not change the substance into another substance. On the other hand, a chemical change is a change where a substance changes into a completely different substance. For example, while burning wood and turning it into carbon is a chemical change, evaporating water into a gas is a physical change.
Origami
Origami is a physical change because folding a little piece of paper doesn't change the paper into any other substance. You idiot.
Boiling Water
Contrary to popular belief, boiling water does NOT change it into any other substance. It is still water, therefore it is a physical change.
Caramel?
The transformation from sugar to caramel IS in fact a chemical change.
