An embargo is an order that restricts or prohibits trade with another country. A trade embargo is usually put in place because of a conflict. A trade embargo can destroy a country's economy. Trade embargoes usually are in place for years.

The positives are it allows farmers to harvest 2 to 3 crops per year. Also the dam helps control flood waters. The negatives are that it blocks the flow of silt. It allows less freshwater to reach the delta, allowing salt to flow deeper into the delta.

OPEC stands for Organization of Petroleum Exporting countries. They supply 40% of the worlds oil. They influence oil prices. They work to increase income from the sale of oil.
