Cardinal Courier: October 15th
Where Learning Takes Flight
A Note from Mrs. Tallent
These next few months are probably some of the busiest months that we have at school with several events going on! As we approach each event you will be able to find details and information about the event in our Cardinal Courier. Please reach out to your child's teacher, our front office or our administrators if something is unclear or you have questions!
Our wonderful PTO will be partnering with us to provide breakfast to First Responders for First Responders Day on Oct. 28th! We would love to invite any parents or community members that are First Responders to join us. We would love for you to dress in uniform and say hello to our students during arrival from 7:30-8:00. Then we will treat you to breakfast! If you know someone in our neighborhood that is a First Responder, please let them know about our event and invite them to come. We look forward to thanking them for their service!
On October 31st we are inviting parents to join us for our Storybook Character Parade. We have included details and a map below. We can't wait to see all our students shine as they show off their very best costumes!
We will be sending out an email with safety reminders for all of our arrival locations! It is important that all of our students and parents know how to stay safe at each of our arrival locations, so be on the look out and have conversations with your students so they also know what to expect. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our cardinals safe!

Lockdown Practice Drill
As part of our district and campus safety practices, we will be practicing our Lockdown Drill on October 18th. Prior to the drill our teachers will have age appropriate conversations about what students will be asked to do during the drill. This is our common practice on campus for all drills we conduct. We will come on the announcements and talk students/teachers through the drill to ensure everyone stays calm and knows that it is a drill. After the drill, you will receive a communication from us that a lockdown drill was conducted on campus. As always if you have any questions regarding our drills or safety practices on campus Mrs. Tannisha Oyeniyi or I would be happy to speak with you!
Fire Safety and Coloring Contest
As we are talking about safety, it is important that our kiddos know 2 ways out in the event of a house fire. The Harris County Fire Marshall Office is getting the word out and conducting a coloring contest. Please consider participating in the "Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escapes" contest and take this opportunity to talk to your children about escape routes and meeting location in the event of a fire.

Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is starting to fill up! Please take a moment when you are on campus to stop by and look to see if any of your child's lost items are there! We do our best to look for names on items and deliver those back to students. If the item doesn't have a name on it, it goes into the lost and found. We will probably clean out the lost and found when everyone leaves for Thanksgiving Break. This will give students and families and opportunity on Conference Day (Nov. 1st) and Thanksgiving Feast Days to look for lost items. Items that have not been claimed by then will be donated. Parents feel free to check in a the front office any morning and go check the lost and found it needed!

CARDINAL COUNTY FAIR SPONSORS NEEDED
We hope you will consider partnering with the Fall Creek PTO for our 12th Annual Cardinal County Fair Fall Fundraiser! CCF is a great opportunity to promote your business and let the community know what you have to offer.
