APS Enrollment

You have until February 25th to make a school selection. Some families have asked to change their choices after the amazing school tours. If you would like to make changes, just submit another form for your student. The Enrollment Team will take your most recent submission prior to February 25th deadline. YOU ONLY HAVE TO FILL OUT THE SELECTION FORM, not an enrollment application, if your are a k-4 student at APS.

Please contact the school if you would like support with filling out your choices or have specific questions.

Review of Enrollment Information and Links to Forms:

Current Kindergarten - 4th Grade School Selection Form

If your child is a current Asheville Primary Kindergarten - 4th Grader, please know that your family has the opportunity to complete your child’s School Selection Form now - Friday, February 25th. This form is how we will learn more about your school preference, as families will rank their school choices 1st through 5th for 2022-2023.

Additionally, please know the February 25th deadline will allow the enrollment team to assess the numbers and go before the Board of Education. At this time, our recommendation will be to give priority placement to APS students at the school of their choice before placing other students.

Current Pre-K School Selection

Current Asheville Primary Pre-K students will complete their applications for the 2022 - 2023 school year during the district’s regular open enrollment window. This year, open enrollment begins on February 7th and ends on March 14th. Additional information can be found here.

School Videos

To support your family’s selection process, videos that showcase each of our 2022 - 2023 elementary schools and highlight their unique magnet themes can be found here.

Peanut Aware

Please remember that we are a peanut aware school with staff and students who have severe peanut allergies. Students may bring other nuts, but peanuts make some of our family sick and put them in danger. We have seen some peanut wrappers in the trash lately....please help us keep it safe at APS with no peanut products.

Congratulations to our friends at Lucy S. Herring Preschool

Ti amo. Je t'aime. Ich liebe dich. Mahal kita. I love you.

Thank you to Mr. Zay, Mr. Donnie, and Mr. Burton for taking care of our campus needs. They have been so quick to respond to our maintenance requests and are so kind to our staff and students. Notice the sail shades on the playgrounds have been adjusted, the flag pole has been repaired, and the tile floor that was broken has been replaced. Thanks for all of your hard work!
