*Accidentally miss the 11/12 order deadline for Scrip? No problem! Another round of Scrip orders are due 11/27 by 8pm! See below on how to order.
Chipotle has committed to donating 33% of sales on 12/9 between 4-8PM (flyer required). If you purchase a $25 Chipotle gift card through Scrip, the school will earn $2.50. That same $25 gift card, when used at Restaurant Night, will earn the Orchard Lane PFC $8.25. That brings us to a total of $10.75 with no extra money out of your pocket! How easy is that?!
Don't forget, Scrip has gift cards for all of your favorite places to shop. Each purchase earns money to be used for our school, our teachers, and most importantly, our kids. With the holidays right around the corner, start thinking about using Scrip for easy holiday gifts as well!

*Reading is Cool!!
What a beginning to first semester we are having — whether learning virtually or in person, our students have been shining! Together or apart, reading is one of the best ways we can shine together. This year, students won’t just be earning prizes for achieving their reading goals, but they will be sharing some of their favorite books from each month on their goal sheet. PFC will keep track of everyone’s book recommendations and post what our readers are loving each month. Also, to go along with the theme of 2020, Reading is Cool will be virtual using Google Forms. No more paper tracking sheets! For new families, or those needing a refresher, Reading is Cool is a PFC sponsored program designed to encourage reading while helping students improve skills and develop a love of books. Encouraging children to read early in life opens their minds to many new ideas. The program awards students for completing their monthly reading goals and recommending books to their peers. Any and all classroom reading may be combined with students’ recreational reading on their monthly time sheets. Reading out loud with another person may also be included. Nothing is off limits — the more reading, the better for everyone.
In order to qualify for prizes, a student must:
1. Read the required number of hours for their individual grade level. A reading record sheet is included with this email if families would like a paper tracker.
• K-2nd grade = 4 hours per month • 3rd and 4th grade = 6 hours per month • 5th and 6th grade = 8 hours per month
2. Select at least three of their favorite book titles to submit with their reading hours on Google.
3. Complete the Reading is Cool: OL Book Club Google Form by the submission date. Be sure to go online to https://forms.gle/ntjn4WJfvcnxGp8RA and submit your first Google Form by November 24. Families with more than one OL Star will need to submit a form for each child. We hope your family chooses to participate in the Reading is Cool! program on a monthly basis. If you have any questions, please contact Emily Brezinsky at emilybrezinsky@gmail.com.
