Valentine's Day Deliveries
Please Help Us With No Valentine’s Day Gift
Deliveries At School
Dear Parents,
We need your help and support. We are asking that you have your child’s Valentine’s Day deliveries directed to your home rather than school. In the past, valentine gift deliveries have created storage and management challenges in the office area. When we get gift deliveries for students, we hold these deliveries in the office so that it is not a distraction to their learning day. Students’ pick up their deliveries from the office at the end of the learning day, and for safety reasons are not allowed to bring balloons on a bus.
Thank you for your help in keeping every school day a learning day.
Sincerely,
Ms. Sabin
Valentine’s Day parties will occur at the end of the day. Classroom teachers will send out information separately about their classroom parties.
Activities will be available in the library for students who do not wish to participate in holiday parties.
Q: How can I prepare my child for cold winter weather on school days?
A: Make sure your student has warm winter clothing including a coat, hat, gloves, and winter shoes/boots. Waterproof pants and boots help your child stay dry when playing in the snow at recess. If you need help with winter clothing, please let us know by calling (509) 786-2633.
Q: If school is closed due to winter weather, does my child have online school that day?
A: No. This year, any snow days would mean that school is closed. Remember that your child can always log into his/her online learning websites to practice reading, math, or language at home. Experts recommend 20 minutes of reading every day, plus 20 minutes on programs like iReady math, iReady reading, or EPIC.
Q: Where can I find information about weather closures or delays?
A: Find information at these outlets:
