Morphological description
Abies are typically evergreen trees with a spire-like or conic form that often become rounded in old trees. Trees may grow with reduced stature. Abies typically possess a single straight trunk with regularly spaced branch whorls produced at the rate of one whorl per year, so that it is sometimes possible to determine the age of a tree 50 years old simply by counting branch whorls. The branch pattern is also exceptionally regular, with a single terminal and two lateral shoots produced each year at the tip of most active branches.
Uses, threats and singularity
People use the shoot and oil for medicine.
Fir is taken by mouth for respiratory tract pain and inflammation, colds, cough, bronchitis, fever, and sore mouth and throat. It is also taken for muscle and nerve pain, tendency toward infection, and tuberculosis.
Some people apply fir directly to the skin for muscle, nerve, and joint pain. It is also added to bathwater as a treatment for mental illness.
Fir shoot may reduce mucus production in the airways and act as a mild germ-killer. When applied to the skin, the essential oil increases blood flow to the area, causes redness, and creates a sensation of warmth, which can help relieve pain in the tissue underneath.
It is found in mountainius places of Europe, but nowadays you can found everywhere.

Classical myths related to the plant
ATTIS
A son of Nana, and a beautiful shepherd of the Phrygian town, Celaenae. His story is related in different ways. Cybele loved the beautiful shepherd, and made him her own priest on condition that he should preserve his chastity inviolate. Attis broke the covenant with a nymph, the daughter of the river-god Sangarius, and was thrown by the goddess into a state of madness. When he wanted to put an end to his life, Cybele changed him into a firtree, which became sacred to her.
