Solving One-Step Equations
This poster explains how to solve a one-step equation
What is it?
A one-step equation is an equation that requires you to use one step to get x by itself. There is an example below.
How to solve it
To solve this equation, it is really simple. You simply have to do whatever you do to the left side to the right side. In this case, you have to divide 2x by 2 to get rid of x. But you also have to divide -26 by 2 also, and so then you are left with x= -13. But in other cases, you may have to add, subtract, or multiply to get x by itself. But, in all cases, you must do what you do to the left side to the right as well. And in all cases, you must get x by itself to solve it.
Good! You now know how to solve a one step equation! Happy computing!
