Summer Camp Suggestions

Recreation Unlimited- Recreation Unlimited was very pleased to offer camp sessions for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2020. We are looking forward to continuing with camps and programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2021.

We have worked with the Delaware General Health Department and our medical team to determine the best protocols on running a safe camp. Commonly touched surfaces will be routinely disinfected, hand washing will be done on a regular basis, masks will be worn, physical distancing practiced, and daily temperature checks will be a few of the protocols being implemented.

News From the Nurse

We have had a lot of students borrow clothing from the clinic this year and many items have not been returned. If your child borrowed clothing from the clinic and you still have it at home, please wash the items and have your child bring them to the clinic. Our supply of pants is very low and we would like to replenish our supply so we have plenty available for students to borrow next year. Additionally, if you have any pants or packs of underwear that you would like to donate to the clinic, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Hello Y-Club Families, We have missed you!

It's that time again! Registration is open for the 2021-2022 school year. Our hope is to be in 9 locations within the Pickerington Local School district for Fall of 2021. Open locations will depend on enrollment and program space at each school. If a determination is made that we will not be able to open a certain location, communication will be sent out the first week of July, 2021. Our Y Clubs include: Diley, Fairfield, Harmon, Heritage, Pickerington, Sycamore, Toll Gate, Tussing and Violet.

At time of registration a $25/child registration fee will be charged to complete the registration. You will receive a 'welcome to the program' email once your child(ren) is registered. Wait lists will be handled in the order in which the registration has been received.

We know it has been a different year but the students have done an amazing job with adjusting to so many changes. We could not do it without you!

Device Collection

With only 10 days of school remaining this year, the technology department would like to communicate the collection process for devices and hotspots.

Hotspots - All hotspots that were borrowed from PLSD MUST be returned to your student's media center by May 21st, 2021. (VLA students see below) Hotspots are deactivated over the summer months so that we can reimage and update them for the following school year. If you will need one for the 21-22 school year, you will need to fill out the agreement form and submit that to your student's media center once school begins in August.

K-2 iPad Collection - All K-2 classroom teachers (VLA students see note below) will begin to collect iPads from students starting Wednesday, May 19th. Please have your student bring their iPad, case, lightning cable, and power brick into school on Wednesday, May 19th.

Over the summer we will be placing the newest iPads in the Kindergarten classrooms and transitioning to Chromebooks for grades 1 & 2.

3rd - 11th Grade Chromebooks - Students in grades 3-11 will keep their current Chromebook over the summer. Students that will be in grades 5 and 9 next school year, will trade in their current Chromebook for a new model during the first few weeks of school in August.

NOTE: If your student(s) know they are not coming back to Pickerington Schools for the 2021-2022 school year, please have them turn in their Chromebook to the media center or they can turn it in during the VLA or Senior collection times.

12th Grade Chromebook Collection - We will be collecting all senior Chromebooks on Thursday, May 13th, and Friday, May 14th. Students need to make sure they have the Chromebook and power cord to turn on these dates. Seniors that are in VLA, please read below for your collection details.

VLA Drive Through Collection - We will be collecting any VLA student's iPads (K-2) and any VLA Senior's Chromebook in a drive-through format in front of Diley Middle School from May 24 - May 28 from 9:00 AM to Noon and 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Hotspots can also be turned in at this time.

If you have any questions about the iPad or Chromebook collection process please email your question to asktech@plsd.us

Thank you and have a great rest of the school year.
