Veterans Day
Mr. Close talking to students about his Air Force service. | Our whole-school ceremony on Veterans Day. | Thank you, Nurse Yates and Mr. Close for your service to our country! |
A Thought on Vaccinations
Since VDH guidance allows vaccinated students to remain in school while awaiting test results, we are enthusiastic about this opportunity - it keeps our students in school! However, we fully recognize that this is a family decision and we support all families, regardless of the decision they make.
We ask that you have the conversation with your student that the choice whether to vaccinate is up to each individual family. There have been some unkind exchanges between students whose families have chosen to vaccinate and families who have chosen not to vaccinate. It is important that we use this opportunity to model tolerance and respect for others' points of view. We don't have to agree, but we have a responsibility to be respectful.
Test to Stay
The Test to Stay program is for students identified as close contacts who are asymptomatic, unvaccinated, and age 5+ only. Parental consent is required to participate. Please set up your unvaccinated student in the testing dashboard AND complete the consent form:
You may also print this paper copy and return the completed paper copy to school:
Important note: we are given tests to accommodate one class at a time; as such, we will use the tests in order of need.
Unstuffed Turkey Trot
Those wishing to donate non-perishable food items to support the Lamoille Community House in advance of the race may drop off items on Friday, November19 at drop-off or pick-up at the entrance of the school.
Check out Mrs. Wilson's running shoes!
Come light up the night with us!
Why not join the planning committee for this year's BJAMS Light Up the Night festivities?
WHEN: Saturday, November 20th at 10:30am
WHERE: BJAMS outdoors
This will be a short and informal meeting to get things off the ground and brainstorm for a bit.
You may direct questions and RSVP to Rachael Grant at williamsrs22@yahoo.com or just show up.
We look forward to seeing you and we're excited to see this year's event take shape with your help!
Celebrating a Birthday?
In lieu of cupcakes or other sweet treats, we invite students to mark their special day with a dress down day. Your student may dress in casual wear (modest, please) - no uniform - on their birthday.
If your student's birthday falls on the weekend, then make it that Friday! If your student's birthday falls during the summer, make it a half-birthday and dress down at the 6-month mark!
Your student may bring store-bought, prepackaged, individually wrapped treats to share with their class. No homemade baked goods, please.
