LHS Robotics Awarded Gene Haas Foundation Grant
On behalf of the Warlocks Team 1507, Jeff Rogowski wrote and was once again awarded the Gene Haas Foundation Grant (GHF) for Lockport Robotics Inc. in the amount of $1,500. GHF's primary goal is to provide scholarships for computer numerical controlled (CNC) technology students and support towards earning National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials.
The funds can be used for sponsorship of a competition in which individual students or teams of students participate. Manufacturing and CNC machining skills, such as FIRST, NRL, Boots IQ, Skills CNC competitions, school racing programs such as Shell ECO and solar car challenges, and other robotics competitions are eligible.
Junior Achievement of Western New York
Congratulations to Lockport High School Business Teacher Jill DiTullio for being recognized by the Junior Achievement of WNY organization for her outstanding commitment as an Educator and Champion of Junior Achievement. Jill has done an amazing job keeping the vision of Career Education and Pathways alive and moving forward at Lockport High School.
Celebrating its centennial in 2019, Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Junior Achievement programs are used to enhance the curriculum in a variety of Lockport High School Business courses and internships. Each year, Lockport High School competes in the Stock Market Challenge that is sponsored and facilitated by Junior Achievement.
