BARBER BULLETIN
Week of September 4 - September 8
Support is here!
I recognize that the demands are high across our district and state when it comes to educational requirements. As our superintendent shared with us, "High expectations require high-support." Support is here for you in many ways!
Are you interested in taking the required Read to Succeed coursework? The registration window is open from now until October 2nd at 4pm. The state department has expanded the free courses. There are (7) courses available during this Fall session. If you need assistance with registering for these courses, please let an admin help you!
If you need training to help you with Reading A-Z Benchmark Passage, our Reading Coach, Sonya Ramsue is available. Mrs. Ramsue also provides onsite DRA2 training for anyone that is new and needs assistance.
Mrs. Turner sent out a few reminders this week also. Remember to log off and shut down your desktop computers everyday. Turn off your projectors when you are not using them. If you have not set up your Google Classroom and would like help with that, please let C.Turner know! Have you ever used Google Fluency? Try it with the help of C.Turner!
Is there something you really want for your classroom but just not sure how to fund it? Consider applying for a grant! There are several grant applications available this time of year and administration is eager to help you get started!
Thank you for all of your energy and excitement as we opened the 2017-2018 school year.
Grant money is available!
Grace Life Church is a wonderful partner and friend to Richland Two. They are once again offering IMPACT GRANTS for which teachers and school counselors can apply. Four $500 grants and one $1000 grant will be given.
Please review this link:

All grant submissions are due by Wednesday, September 13.
If you need assistance with writing the grant, but have a great idea, let an administrator know and we are happy to help you!
A message from our school SRO!
Classes that are available include:
Meet and Greet ( I would really like to see every class if possible)
Lesson 1- Who can you call in case of emergency?
Lesson 2- Why is it safer to follow directions?
Lesson 3- How can you tell what is safe to touch, taste, smell or eat?
Lesson 4- Why is it important to know what's going on around you?
Each class takes about 15 to 30 minutes and are open to all grade levels. Books the classes through the DARE calendar that was shared with you. Include your name, room #, and which class when you schedule the class on the calendar.
BY THE NUMBERS.....
In an effort to do a better job at communicating our parent support with you, I will share data with you as we obtain it!
Did you know that 87% of our current families attended our Back to School night? That percentage represents 634 students!
Did you know that we had 175 skaters at Skateland on Thursday night to support Pontiac Skate night?
I'm impressed and appreciative of the support we have received from our stakeholders during the month of August!
