BCMS Friday Rewind
Week of December 5th, 2016
SC Featured Richie Parker
DRIVE
Richie Parker was born with no arms, but that hasn't stopped him from pursuing his dreams and being innovative in finding ways accomplish his goals. This story beautifully illustrates many of the learning outcomes and character traits that we hold in high regard:
- Help students think differently about everyday problems and seek solutions
- Instill perseverance in our students so they will be able to overcome the challenges that they face throughout their lives.
- Utilize a growth mindset - I am not able to do that "yet", but I know I can get there.
- Be willing take risks without fear of failure
- Think creatively
- Act Responsibly
- Be Dedicated
- And on and on....
It is also a good reminder for us as adults to reflect on the challenges that we face each day in both or personal and professional lives. Please take 8 minutes to watch Richie's story.
