Kristallnach or 'Night of Broken Glass' took place on November 9th and 10th of 1938.
Hitler Youth members across Germany shattered 7,500 shop windows of Jewish-owned buildings, and stole what they could.
At least 91 Jews were killed. Police records at the time had a high number of rapes, also, many people killed themselves.
Many synagogues or Jewish worship places, burned throughout the night, much like this one. Firefighters were only told to keep the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings. Germans destroyed 267 synagogues
