MIS Monday Message
October 12 - 16
Fall is Here!
The RtI meetings were very informative last week and we know that we have our work cut out for us. Many of our students are struggling to meet grade level expectations and I'm amazed at how specific you were in knowing exactly where their struggles are. Thank you for taking the time to be so diagnostic with students in pinpointing their needs. Our next round of Academy starts tomorrow and we will be working with students in our own rooms (or switch class). This round will continue for 3 weeks and then we'll have RtI meetings again to share their growth.
Please make sure that the students you're not working with are being engaged in learning as well, either through independent reading or working on assignments tied to the curriculum. You'll need to work with your partner teacher on how you want to handle balancing out the time students who are not receiving interventions get on other assignments. Feel free to experiment in order to find what works best for your students.
We will have professional development next Monday, October 19th, and will focus on several things. Some of the time that day will be spent training on the District Active Shooter plan, while some will be spent on Vertical Team discussions. I'll share the schedule with you later in the week. Parent-Teacher conferences are also coming up on the 20th. This will be an important time to visit with parents about the progress of their child. Blake and I will make sure that duty is covered for all classroom teachers on PT conference day so you have adequate time to prepare. I also need some feedback on what you prefer for dinner on PT conference day. Please take a few minutes and let me know using the form below.
Have a wonderful week!
Meet Jacey Case!
I grew up in Star City, AR. I moved to Conway, AR to attend college and attended UCA. After graduating UCA with my master's in speech pathology. I worked at Baptist Hospital and then developmental day centers for children and adults. I currently still live in Conway, but I am slowly trying to move back down to Star City or Monticello. My husband is Jason, who is a police officer in Conway. We met when I was 18 and married when I was 25. I have one child, my son Connor, who is 4 years old. My birthday is June 9th and I have a precious dog named Luna who is a Corgi. My hobbies are scrapbooking and reading.
