AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
I really enjoyed the time we spent together on Monday. I am very impressed with how hard people pushed themselves as well as with the encouragement and teamwork that you all displayed to support one another. This day was important for us as a faculty and staff. Why? Because we need to remember that no matter what comes our way, we all have each other's back.
We are all on the same team. We are all working to achieve the same goal. Student success. When times get difficult and stress levels rise to the top, we need to remember that we are all in this together. When we work together, there isn't anything we cannot achieve!
Think. Achieve. Succeed.

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
October is HARD!
It’s that time of the school year. Our students are getting really comfortable, and we may be starting to see behaviors that we haven’t seen yet this year.
It is important that we separate our students from the questionable decisions they may be beginning to make. Our students are not the behaviors that they demonstrate. This is a time of the year that a daily clean slate becomes imperative.
Consider this:
When a student makes a poor choice, what are we doing to teach, model, and reinforce the correct choice? What are we doing daily to build our relationship with each student? Are we outweighing our corrections/redirections with positive interactions? How are we reinforcing the behaviors that we want to see? What are we doing to prove to our students that they matter?
Technology Tip of the Week
I have had several teacher's tell me that one of the tools they used, a random group generator, no longer works now that we have Windows 10. Bummer! Here is a websiteyou can use to make your groups for you. There are several others websites as well.
Another option that is low cost but not no cost (its $0.99) is Team Shake. You can find it in the App Store or the Google Play store. You can load student names, their gender, and their strength as a student. The app can then create groups that are balanced based on the criteria you choose.
If you are interested in Team Shake, let your department head know and the school can purchase the app for your teacher iPad.
