Lending Library FAQs
What is the purpose of the Lending Library: The Lending Libraries are here to serve our families. Much like the public library a family can check out materials for a short amount of time to help support their education at home.
What types of items are found in the Lending Libraries? We have many different types of items in the libraries: books, puzzles, games, leveled readers, science equipment, instruments, and more.
How much does each item cost? All the items in the Library are free for you to borrow.
Will there be late fees? No, there are no late fees if an item is not returned on time.
How long can an item be check out? An item can be checked out for 3 months, then you can check it out for an additional 3 months. After that, the item should be returned to the Lending Library to check out to another student. If you want something for a full year or longer, we would encourage you to purchase the item with your Instructional Funds.
Can an item be shipped to my house? All items can be transferred throughout the state to a Library near you. Items must be picked up at a library.
Do I need to make an appointment to come in to the library? Each library will have hours of operation. You can drop in any time they are open to pick up the items you have checked out.
Will I be notified when the item has arrived? Yes, once your items arrive to your nearest library, you will get an email notification.
Will I be notified when my items are due? Yes, an email will be sent to you when it is time to return the item.
What happens if I forget to pick up the item? Once your item arrives at the nearest library, we will hold it for you for 15 days. After 15 days, if you have not picked it up, it will be put back into our inventory system for another family to check out.
Meet Our Lending Library Specialists
Julia Ornelas-Glowacz
I am excited to be working for Inspire Charter Schools as a Lending Librarian! I was homeschooled for the majority of my elementary, middle and high school years, so I have a great appreciation and understanding of what homeschooling has to offer from a student’s perspective. Currently, I am a sophomore in college working to obtain my History degree and then a teaching credential. In my free time, I like to spend time with my friends and family, read, and travel.
