CHS GIRLS GOLF MAKES HISTORY
The 2016 Girls Golf Team finished the regular season as the first team in CHS history to qualify for the State Tournament as a team. This year’s team improved tremendously from last season, shaving nearly 26 strokes per round off of their team score. The girls committed to improving and achieved their goal. Many congrats to team members Alexia Morales, Annika Lagos, Grace Morales, Hope Morales, Sydney Matic, Tressa Stevenson, and Coach Darr. The team will look to finish the season strong as they compete in the State Tournament November 2nd and 3rd at Aguila Golf Club.
CROSS COUNTRY QUALIFIES FOR STATE
Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams for qualifying for State at last week’s meet! The teams are coached by Mr. Matt Lincoln and Mr. Dave Shapiro.
PLAYOFF BOUND
Last Friday’s Battle for Arizona Avenue began with a courtyard pep rally with segments televised on Fox 10’s morning news. Buzz Rother saved the day (and Scruffy) during a colossal dance-off with a much less-talented Hamilton Husky. Tailgate parties spurred excitement for the night’s competition against HHS. Ultimately, the Wolves defeated the Huskies handily 63-28 and won the Battle. The Wolves take on the Basha Bears this Friday at home at 7:00pm. Go Wolves!
FRESHMEN AND JV FOOTBALL END STRONG SEASONS
The Freshman Wolves defeated the Hamilton Huskies 38-35 last week to finish their season undefeated. The JV team got the win last week beating HHS 43-7 and also had a stellar season, finishing with just one loss. Congratulations, Wolves!
LINK CREW CONFERENCE
Last week, Chandler High hosted a Link Crew conference that drew in schools from all over Arizona. Guest Speaker Patrick Mauer led the Link Student Leaders in a number of icebreakers, inspired them through his opening speech, and engaged them in numerous high-energy activities throughout the morning. Kudos to CHS Link Crew and advisors Mrs. Heather Dyke and Mr. Michael Gray for hosting a great conference!
