PBS lesson
Our PBS lesson will again focus on Inappropriate Student Behavior.
Our Second Steps lessons all focus on EMPATHY.
All grade levels have a focus on Learning.
Kindergarten- Same or Different
1st grade - Feelings Change
2nd grade - Showing Compassion
3rd grade - Showing Compassion
4th grade - Showing Compassion
5th grade - Bullying - Introduction
Second Steps - Anti-bullying Program
Last year each grade level received a spiral with materials for this unit. It includes one spiral with disk and posters. Please locate these materials and talk about these as a team to make sure you are familiar in preparation for lessons in coming weeks.

The second article is about using logical consequences in response to student behavior choices. A great resource with ideas to help students see the connection between behaviors and impact/consequences.

Kagan is evident in our building. I see and hear teachers using structures. Here are a few images to consider when giving students structured opportunities to talk about their learning. Do you have expectations for how students will sit during your lesson and when they talk to peers? Have you given students the academic language to discuss text at a higher level? Are you remembering to make it fun by adding Gambits and Cheers?
