Letter From Ms. Brito
Dear Washington Family,
As we approach the season of gratitude and reflection, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to each member of our wonderful Washington community.
This year, we have achieved so many successes and some challenges, too. I am grateful for the resilience, dedication, and strength of our entire school community. . As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving, let us pause to recognize the many amazing things we have to appreciate.
To our exceptional students--your curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and joy continually inspire us. Your unique perspectives and diverse talents enrich our school environment, creating a very specail community of learners.
To our committed teachers and staff--your dedication, creativity, and tireless efforts in supporting our students never go unnoticed. Your unwavering commitment to fostering a caring and engaging learning environment ensures the success of all of our students.
To our supportive parents--your partnership and involvement in your child's education are invaluable. Your support and encouragement help our students and staff to reach their full potential.
To our volunteers and community partners--your generosity, involvement, and willingness to contribute to our school community make a huge impact. Your collaboration strengthens the bonds within our school and extends our reach far beyond the classroom walls.
This Thanksgiving, let us cherish the moments of togetherness, express gratitude, and continue to foster a culture of kindness within our Washington family.
Wishing you all a Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
With gratitude,
Angie
Wildcats Give Back Food Drive
Thank you to everyone who donated food and supplies for our food drive for the Maine Township Food Pantry! We had so many donations that the food pantry had to make two trips to collect all of the supplies! A special shout out goes to the PTO, the Washington Student Council, and all of you for helping to make this such a success! Wildcats Give Back!
Wildcats Give Back - Holiday Gift Giving
In past years, Washington families have supported our own Wildcat community, helping
make a difference to those in need during the holidays. Again this year, in addition to
giving back to those in our school community, Washington is expanding this
initiative working with the Salvation Army to provide gifts for children in the larger Park
Ridge community and surrounding areas.
Starting Monday, November 27, we will have a snowman set up in the front office at
Washington School. There will be paper mittens surrounding our snowman that contain
a wish or a need for a single child. Each item is valued at $25-$50 and includes toys,
games, clothes etc. We ask that all gifts be brought back to Washington’s front office by
Monday, December 11th.
We invite you to come to the front office and Lea or Michelle can assist in assigning you
as many mittens as you would like. Cash and or/gift cards will also be accepted. Please
drop it off at the front office, and Lea or Michelle will ensure your gift goes to the right
place.
Thank you for supporting our community. Wildcats Give Back!
In Line Skating is Coming to P.E.!
Dear Washington Families,
The inline skating unit for our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will begin Monday, December 4th and continue through Friday, December 15th. We encourage our students to bring their own equipment to use throughout the unit. The equipment needed includes inline skates, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads and helmet. Students should wear tall socks to protect their legs. For those students who do not have their own equipment, it will be provided.
Students are encouraged to bring their own helmets. If a student does not own a helmet, the PE department will have a limited number of loaner helmets available. Helmets will not be shared. Any student without a helmet will not be allowed to skate.
Here is a link to Advocate Children’s Hospital Bike Helmet Purchasing Program. Helmets can be purchased at a discounted price for children and adults. Free fitting services are also available.

After viewing online, you will be asked to digitally sign off that you have viewed your child’s report card. To be sure you can access this report card, please follow these directions for how to login. We hope this will allow parents better access to their child’s educational achievement.
