Instructional Focus:
Parent Newsletter Information...
Sonja is going to be in charge of pulling information for this newsletter. If you would like to get something out to parents, please use the following button below. When you submit something on the form, an email will go to Sonja and she can add it to the newsletter.
Progress Reports....
At the end of the second quarter, I had several parents that were upset that they were "blindsided" by their student's failing grades. Requiring parent signatures on these progress reports can be a great way to document that you tried to reach out to parents.
If a child is failing, or in danger of receiving a failing grade, it is our responsibility to communicate this to parents.
Dandy Lions....
As a reminder, this is our school-wide positive referral system. We have ordered enough of our "Settler's Point Pride" bracelets and are handing these out to all students that are coming up with a Dandy Lion.

COPE Room Change....
Teacher Talent Show?
Do I have any teachers that would be willing to help in a creation of a video like this one to present at the end of the talent show?
There are some pretty easy dances in the Fortnite lineup, and I think we/the kids would have a lot of fun viewing it :) Plus if we did it on video, you could have multiple attempts to try.
Please email me if you/your team would be interested in making a fool of yourself alongside me. Primary grades, your students are not too young to know the dances. My son does not play the game but learned how to floss the first week of kindergarten (I'm pretty sure it's unwritten curriculum at this point).
Odds and Ends.....
- I cannot thank each of you enough for the hard work that you put into Family Night! I know that it was a pain and exhausting, but I really feel that our community loved it!!! Thanks!!!
- There is some talk at the district level about schools changing start/end times for next school year. As our transportation consultant is looking to clean up how we do transportation, one of his biggest recommendations is to change start times. As of right now, nothing is final, and it's just being mentioned. If anything starts to gain traction, I will ensure to keep you all in the loop.
- Our new marquee is currently scheduled to be installed February 26 (fingers crossed, as I know this has been mentioned for a year or so now).
- Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for family night: Stephanie Usrey, Catherine Torstenson, and Kelly Kalen
