PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
October 6, 2023
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
As we stand on the brink of a momentous weekend, I am thrilled to extend a warm invitation to our entire community to join in the festivities of this year's Homecoming celebration.
Tonight, our streets will come alive with the vibrant spirit of our school as we gather for the Homecoming Parade and Game. Let's line the streets with cheers, laughter, and unwavering school pride. Our athletes have poured their hearts into preparation, and they are ready to showcase their talents on the field. It's not just a game; it's a testament to the unity and strength that defines our school.
As the sun sets on an evening of spirited competition, we look forward to tomorrow's grand finale—the Homecoming Dance for our sophomores, juniors and seniors. Student Congress is working diligently to transform the Christopher Athletic Complex into a realm of enchantment. Filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the joyous rhythm of festivity, Homecoming is an opportunity for students to make memories, celebrate friendships, and commemorate the shared journey of our school community
Together, let's recognize the dedication, resilience, and creativity of the Walnut community that makes our school exceptional. As our older students gather under the twinkling lights of the dance floor, let the spirit of unity and pride guide us, forging memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for being an integral part of the vibrant tapestry of Walnut Hills High School. Your enthusiasm and presence make our school a home, and I can't wait to witness the energy and joy that will fill our halls and hearts throughout this Homecoming weekend.
In an effort to gather comprehensive feedback from our Walnut families, parents are encouraged to take the CPS Climate Survey HERE. The window closes October 13. Please be aware that next week is the final week of the 1st quarter. Take care and go Eagles!
With pride and excitement,
John Chambers

CAMPUS SAFETY Updates
Attention Students:
Please be aware of these updates on the use of exterior doors to enter and exit the building. Failure to follow these expectations will result in disciplinary action.
During Morning Arrival (7:30 AM-8:00 AM) the only entrances available for students are the Blair Circle steps, Sulsar Avenue steps, Arcade doors facing Blair Circle, and the Senior High Gymnasium lobby. All other doors are off limits during this time.
During passing times across the school day, students are not to use the following exterior doors:
1. 1300s stairwell (near the loading dock area of Marx Stadium)
2. Exterior doors leading into the 1600s hallway
3. Exterior doors in the Triangle Courtyard.
After the 3:00 PM dismissal, students have until 3:15 PM to report to their scheduled after school activity where a supervising adult is present. Otherwise, all students must exit the building promptly after 3:00 PM. If a student needs to re-enter the building after 3:00 PM, it must be via the Blair Circle steps/Main Office area. No student re-entry is allowed after 4:00 PM on school days.
Students, it is important that you do not open any exterior door at any time across the school for any individual. You play a vital role in the safety and security of the school building and Walnut Hills campus. Please make sure that if you notice something that you feel is suspicious, report it to building Administration, Security, or the Main Office.

Blair Circle Drop Off and Pick Up Traffic Info
Blair Circle Morning Traffic
Parents utilizing the Blair Circle drop-off for 7:30 AM morning arrival. Please be advised that when you enter Blair Circle, you continue to move forward around the circle until the car in front of you has stopped. Once all cars in front of you have stopped and are beginning to unload, your rider(s) can do the same. We ask that students have their belongings gathered and are ready to exit their vehicle quickly once stopped.
Please do not drop off your students at any point before the doors to the Arcade/Arts & Science building. After your student(s) have exited your vehicle proceed through Blair Circle and exit onto Blair Avenue. Do not attempt to pass cars that are in front of you. We appreciate your cooperation in making sure the flow of traffic is consistent, efficient, and safe for our families and students.
Blair Circle Afternoon Traffic
For families that are using Blair Circle to pick up your student(s) at 3:00 PM dismissal. Please be advised that you need to fully pull your vehicle into the circle area and continue moving forward around the circle until all traffic ahead of you has stopped/parked. Keep your vehicle close to the sidewalk curb. Once you have your student(s), you may safely proceed out of the circle area and onto Blair Avenue. No traffic from Blair Circle will be entering the Gilbert Avenue/Jr High Gymnasium traffic circle. We appreciate your help in making this dismissal process safe and efficient for our families.
