Thank You!

Thank you to all the parent volunteers that helped with our Health Screenings in October! We were able to complete screenings on all of our 1100+ students and we would not have been able to get that done without the help of our volunteers.

Special thanks to Mitchelle Pfluger for coordinating all of our volunteers!

School Nurse

Upcoming Holiday Parties

Our holiday parties will take place on Thursday, December 21. The RSVP forms will be sent home after Thanksgiving. If you plan to attend, you may pre-register, and pre-printed nametags will be sent home with your child prior to the event. In order to do this, you must have been scanned into our system this year. The holiday parties are grade-level parties which require the help of many volunteers due to all of the activities available for the students: bounce houses, crafts, karaoke, indoor games, food, and so much more. Volunteer information will be sent home soon as well. There will be specific directions on how students will be checked out after parties in the information that will come home.

PBIS News: Fall Leaves Flowing in the Halls

BLAST behavior is in full swing at Robison Elementary. During the month of November, we will be focusing on BLAST behavior in the hallway and showing integrity on the buses. When students are caught showing BLAST behavior in the hallway or setting a great example on the bus, they will earn a fall leaf. The student will write their name on the leaf and then add the leaf to their grade level fall tree.

Blast behavior in the hallway can be shown in many ways. Keeping your hands to yourself, eyes forward, lips closed, and no space-keep the pace are just a few ways to show BLAST behavior in the hallway. Integrity on the bus can be shown by sitting seat to seat and back to back, thinking twice-being nice, and showing the way every day! Remind your child to fill the hallways of Robison with fall leaves.

Congratulations to our winning grade- 2ND grade for being our October BLAST winners! The second graders have won a pajama day for the whole grade level! The date will be announced soon in your weekly blast emails from your child’s teacher.

PTO News

A Note From our PTO President, Karen Finke

Our first graders have recently had some fun days. Today they got to enjoy their Super Citizen Day to learn more about some of our patriotic symbols, historical figures, and even our voting process! Earlier this week they received their first Science Resource Center presentation on Eggs and Nests. It is perfect timing as they anxiously await the hatching of the chick eggs, all part of their science curriculum.

Fifth-grade parent volunteers are busy preparing Colonial Day for our fifth-grade students scheduled November 17. The students get to participate in such Colonial activities as candle making, butter making, quilting, and so much more. There is still time to volunteer for this all day super fun event! Please click on this link to be taken to our online sign-up form. Please include your student’s homeroom teacher name when signing up to volunteer.

Continue to read over the important dates section of this newsletter and the PTO section for upcoming events and information. We also are communicating through our MySchoolAnywhere system via emails from Robison PTO.

Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped Boosterthon run so smoothly and also to our families for your support in making it a fun, successful event!

Boosterthon Fun Run

Thanksgiving Week Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Take some of the Thanksgiving dinner prep stress off your plate this year! Order your dinner rolls from Texas Roadhouse and support Robison at the same time! Look for a flyer to come home about this next Friday.

Rocket Fest

Our second primary fundraiser, Rocket Fest, will be held in the Spring this school year. We are ready to begin forming a planning committee, so if you have an interest in being part of the team, please contact the Primary Fundraising co-chairpersons, Vicky Purvis ( and Heather Kargel ( This event was a massive success last year, and we are anticipating an even better time this year. We need LOTS of volunteers to help the event run smoothly, so if you are interested, please reach out today!

Science Resource Center

We are so fortunate in CFISD to have the Science Resource Center (SRC). They house many different animal groups and allow trained parent volunteers to present these animals and information to our kiddos in an up close and personal way! These programs enhance and enrich the Science programs with living examples.

Each grade level has assigned animal group presentations and parents must be trained before they can handle these animals. With the delay to the start of school, some of these trainings are coming up quickly. Below is listed the upcoming trainings and times. These sessions are held at the SRC (11206 Telge Road…From Hwy. 290 take the Telge Rd. exit. Turn north on Telge Rd. Approximately ¼ mile down the road you will come to the light for Arnold Middle School entrance. Immediately after the light, turn right into the first gate of the FFA rodeo grounds. At the end of that road, you will see the Science Resource Center). Please remember that trainings are Adults Only please. No registration is needed to attend a training session. If you have trained in the past for one of these animal groups, it is not necessary to retrain.

While the actual presentation dates are not set, we are getting our volunteers trained now so we can get these booked with the SRC as soon as possible.

November Trainings:

8 - Kindergarten Guinea Pigs 9:30-11:30 am

10 - 2nd grade Snakes 9:30-11:30 am

28 - 4th grade Galveston Bay Ecology 9:30-11:30 am

30 - 3rd grade Arthropods 9:30-11:30 am

Garden Information

Please consider helping out in the learning garden. All students visit the garden and get to enjoy some hands-on experience growing fruits and vegetables.
