Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
As we welcome April and move into next week's Spring Break, I encourage all to rest, recharge, and have fun! As we return from break, know we are in the homestretch to finishing this school year steady and strong!
School Shooting in Tennessee
Like you, I am deeply saddened by the events that occurred this past Monday at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. Unfortunately, school shootings have been normalized in the United States, and that is not ok. We must find the political will to enact meaningful policy change. We send our deep condolences to the Covenant School community and will continue to strive to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff. Please take a moment to read a statement from the San Mateo County Office of Education, by clicking here.
Promo Videos
In today's Superintendent Update, we feature our second of three promo videos created to highlight the amazing things taking place in this district. Prospective employees are the target audience for video two: Work With Us! During this three minute video, we showcase a myriad of reasons why JUHSD is an amazing place to work! A big shout out to the students, staff, and community members featured in these videos! #juhsdproud
Please have a wonderful break and I look forward seeing our students and staff back on campus, Monday, April 10, 2023.
Warmly,
Toni Presta
Superintendent

Women's History Month Wraps Up
As today wraps up International Women's History Month 2023, a month that has honored women who have positively transformed and impacted the landscape of our society, we share with you how two Westmoor 12th graders celebrated women staff on the WHS campus.
Westmoor Girls Who Code Club members Victoria Chan and Noemi Heng spent the month displaying posters featuring a female staff members, including their photo, along with their words of wisdom, in the school's main hallway. Way to go, Victoria and Noemi!
As a district, we thank the wonderfully amazing women who make JUHSD a better place in which to be!
Daly City Vice Mayor Visits WHS
During this visit, WHS Librarian Jaymi Phillips announced that Author Alane Adams, as part of her Read Across America month campaign, donated new books to the WHS Library! We encourage our students to visit their site libraries and take advantage of all they have to offer!
